The Department of Financial Economics and Accounting organized the Meeting “AI in Finance and Society: Challenges and Opportunities” with COST Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance research network members. This is an important European network of experts and researchers from companies and universities who belong to various disciplines: Finance, Law, Mathematics, Accounting, and Computer Science, among others.
Colleagues from the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting, María Victoria Ruiz Mallorquí and Sonia Granado Suárez participated in the organization of this event, together with Ioana Florina Coita from the University of Oradea (Romania), which took place on July 18 and 19, 2024 in the Stone Classroom of the Institutional Headquarters.
More than 20 professors and researchers from European universities such as the University of Twente, University of Hamburg, University of Tirana, Babes-Bolyai University, University of Latvia, Kadir Has University, University of Oradea or University College Dublin gathered at the event. , which debated the present and future of Artificial Intelligence in the financial industry.
The meeting, which could be conducted in person and online, closed with an exciting roundtable where various participants highlighted the challenges higher education faces in using artificial intelligence.
