Quality assurance is the systematic, structured, and continuous attention to quality, with a focus on maintaining and improving it. Royal Decree 1,392/2007, of 29 October, establishing the organization of official university education, incorporates Quality Assurance Systems (QAS) as a fundamental component of the new study programs.
Within the framework of the educational policies and processes developed in universities, quality assurance enables the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism to demonstrate that it takes the quality of its programs and degrees seriously and that it is committed to implementing the means necessary to ensure and demonstrate such quality, as reflected in the general guidelines set out in the Faculty’s Policy. To this end, on 20 June 2008, the Faculty Board established the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC), responsible for the design, planning, and monitoring of the Center’s QAS. Based on the model provided by the Vice-Rectorate for Quality and Educational Innovation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), the QAC developed the design of the FEET’s QAS, which was approved by the Faculty Board on 29 June 2009 and certified by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) on 25 October 2010.
Thus, the main objective of the FEET Quality Assurance System is to ensure the quality of all its degree programs, both undergraduate and postgraduate, by reviewing and improving them whenever necessary, based on the needs and expectations of its stakeholders, who are kept duly informed, while also ensuring the continuous updating of the Quality Assurance System itself.
