International double-degree agreements

The Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism offers International Double Degrees at the ULPGC in the United Kingdom, Scotland, France, and Germany.

Teaching, in this case, is shared between two universities (one of them foreign), which allows the graduate to obtain two degrees simultaneously.

All this is carried out within the European Higher Education Area. Its purpose is to improve the employability, competitiveness, and language skills of our students in the global market of their graduates.

We have been the first Spanish public University that faces the challenge of creating an International Double Degree Program with countries of the European Union that allows students to obtain two University Degrees accredited in the European Higher Education Area.

Specifically, FEET has mobility agreements with the following foreign Universities:

United Kingdom

Germany

France

Scotland

An agreement is also signed between the University and the International School of Hotel Management of Les Roches. Under this, students with Degrees in Business Administration and Management and Tourism may take a one-year Master’s Degree in Les Roches to complete their formation.

The creation of the International Degree Program + Master of High Academic-Practical Specialization in Hospitality and Luxury Tourism is aimed at students in the 3rd of the Degrees above, who will be able to study the fourth year at Les Roches in the form of a Master in Hotel Management International or Master in Marketing Management for Luxury Tourism in the campuses that Les Roches has in Marbella and Switzerland. Upon their return, they will be able to validate the course without some subjects to graduate as graduates and masters. Students with an average outstanding grade may discount up to 50% of the enrollment; those who accredit an average of notable, 30%.

The agreement will begin to operate in the 2023/2024 academic year and has an initial validity of 4 years. Consolidated as one of the five best international schools for training and hotel management, Les Roches has positioned its Marbella campus among the most important in the world. A destination that attracts students of more than 100 nationalities each semester and has managed to increase its enrollment by up to 65% in the last ten years.

Reception days

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria organizes a welcome week every semester to receive exchange students who join the ULPGC. This week is held during the days before the official start of classes. Its purpose is for exchange students to get to know each other and familiarize themselves with the university.

During this week, and with the help of some students from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (mentor students), they can also take advantage of finding accommodation for their stay on the island during the academic year. In addition, student mentors help newcomers to overcome difficulties they may encounter in their first days at the ULPGC and on the island.

Throughout the week, different academic, sports, and leisure activities are organized that will allow students to get to know the ULPGC better, begin to process the necessary documentation for their correct enrollment, and enjoy these activities.

During the reception week, the International Relations office in the Graduation Room also receives the faculty students. A presentation is made where all students are informed of the steps to follow during their stay at our center. They are provided with information about the registration application, the study plans of the faculty, the subjects they can choose, the datasheet, the qualification certificate, etc.

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the AEGEE-Las Palmas student association has designed a mentoring program, the BUDDY PROGRAM, to help incoming and outgoing students adapt to their international mobility destination.
