The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) attended the “Audit Day – Canary Islands” event held last Friday, October 10, at the Hotel Santa Catalina. The invitation was extended by Javier Álvarez Cabrera, President of the 12th Territorial Group of Las Palmas of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Spain.

Alongside the Dean, professors from the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting at the ULPGC, Margarita Mesa Mendoza, Aurora Rodríguez Rodríguez, and Sonia Granados Suárez, also took part in the event.

The program combined reflections on the current state of auditing in Spain with presentations focused on artificial intelligence, professional strategies, and personal development, providing a comprehensive overview of the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

The closing ceremony featured remarks by the Rector of the ULPGC, Lluis Serra Majem, who emphasized the importance of the audits carried out at the University in various areas. He also invited professionals in the field to establish training partnerships with the ULPGC through university micro-credentials.

The Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism extends its gratitude for the invitation to the Dean and the participating professors and congratulates the organizers on the success of this event dedicated to auditing in the Canary Islands.
