Last Friday, the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at ULPGC welcomed Jorge Pérez Melián, Marketing Manager at Satocan, together with Alberto Ortega Abou-Medlej and Diego Molina Domínguez, managers of Las Ramblas Shopping Center. This meeting marked the launch of a joint challenge to be carried out within the Strategic Marketing Management course of the Business Administration degree.
Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to work on a real case that bridges academic theory with professional practice. Over the semester, they will be tasked with analyzing the current situation of the shopping center, identifying potential areas for improvement, and designing
strategic proposals based on data and sound business management principles.
The project is designed to foster essential skills, including critical thinking, analytical capacity, and problem-solving, in real-world contexts. It will also enable students to understand better how decisions are made within an organization and the challenges that marketing professionals face in their day-to-day work.
This collaboration not only enriches academic training but also contributes to strengthening the business fabric of the Canary Islands. In doing so, the Faculty reaffirms its commitment to an education that combines academic rigor with experiential learning, thereby preparing students to tackle the
challenges of the labor market successfully.
