We share here some moments of the Conference given by the Governor of the Bank of Spain, Dr. Pablo Hernández de Cos, today, Friday, November 3, 2023, within the framework of the “Canary Islands, Investment Hub” conference. As can be seen, the capacity of the FEET Assembly Hall was too small, so that many of those attending the Conference had to settle in the FEET Degree Room as well as in classroom D.01, where was able to follow the event via streaming. The Conference was attended by numerous academic authorities, among whom was the Rector of the ULPGC, Dr. Lluís Serra Majem, the Dean of the FEET, Dr. Juan Manuel Benítez del Rosario, as well as political authorities. , directors of Canarian companies, representatives of the headquarters of the Bank of Spain in Las Palmas, professors and students of the FEET.

After arduous negotiations led by the dean of our faculty, Dr. Juan Manuel Benítez del Rosario, the Communications Office of the current Governor of the Bank of Spain, Dr. Pablo Hernández de Cos, has reserved a place for us in its tight schedule for the Governor to visit us next Friday, November 3 of this year with the objective of giving a Conference in the FEET Assembly Hall at 12:00 p.m. with the capacity already filled.

It is noteworthy that it is the first time that a Governor of the Bank of Spain attends an event of this nature in the Canary Islands. Due to this, we believe that this is an opportunity that should be taken advantage of by everyone, which is why we urge FEET teachers to promote and make it easier for their students to attend this event.

Prior to the conference of the Governor of the Bank of Spain this Friday, November 3, and having precisely said conference as its closing, the newspaper El Confidencial, with the help of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, have the pleasure of inviting you to the ‘Canary Islands, investment hub’ meeting that we will hold on November 3 at 9:00 a.m.: 45 hours in the assembly hall of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (C. Saulo Torón, 4).

The objective of this meeting will be to analyze the opportunities, guarantees and advantages that the archipelago offers to potential investors, with special attention to the tourism sector and investment relations with the African financial market.

As you can see in the event agenda, at 11:30 a break is planned to empty the assembly hall so that all those attending the conference of the Governor of the Bank of Spain can enter.
