FEET welcomes students from Equatorial Guinea under the Erasmus+ HOST-EG project

The Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is hosting, for two weeks, four students from Equatorial Guinea through the Erasmus+ HOST-EG project.

The participants, Idris Nguema Obama Muhamed and Leonardo Lino Salomon Sobé (AAUCA), together with Tomás Ondo MBA Ntongono and Jesús Mangue Osa Anguesomo (UNGE-Central Campus), will participate in practical and training activities in the field of entrepreneurship during their stay. This experience will foster academic and cultural exchange between both regions.

Professor Desiderio García Almeida coordinates the initiative from the Department of Business Management (DEDE), guiding the students with the support of the department’s faculty.

Through this programme, ULPGC strengthens its ties of cooperation with universities in Equatorial Guinea and reaffirms its commitment to mobility, internationalisation, and the training of young talent within the framework of Erasmus+.

The Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism strengthens collaboration with Satocan

Last Friday, the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at ULPGC welcomed Jorge Pérez Melián, Marketing Manager at Satocan, together with Alberto Ortega Abou-Medlej and Diego Molina Domínguez, managers of Las Ramblas Shopping Center. This meeting marked the launch of a joint challenge to be carried out within the Strategic Marketing Management course of the Business Administration degree.

Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to work on a real case that bridges academic theory with professional practice. Over the semester, they will be tasked with analyzing the current situation of the shopping center, identifying potential areas for improvement, and designing
strategic proposals based on data and sound business management principles.

The project is designed to foster essential skills, including critical thinking, analytical capacity, and problem-solving, in real-world contexts. It will also enable students to understand better how decisions are made within an organization and the challenges that marketing professionals face in their day-to-day work.

This collaboration not only enriches academic training but also contributes to strengthening the business fabric of the Canary Islands. In doing so, the Faculty reaffirms its commitment to an education that combines academic rigor with experiential learning, thereby preparing students to tackle the
challenges of the labor market successfully.
