Presentation

Dear students.

As Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism, I welcome you to our Faculty, where unforgettable years await you.

This Faculty has a long history of training professionals in economy, business, and tourism and is the only one in the Canary Islands with double degrees in these areas.

The Faculty offers three degrees (Business Administration and Management, Economics, and Tourism), five double degrees (Business Administration and Management and Law, Telecommunication Technology Engineering and Business Administration and Management, Industrial Organization Engineering and Administration and Management Business, English and German Translation and Interpretation and Tourism, Business Administration and Management and Tourism) and three Master’s degrees (Master’s Degree in Business Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, Master’s Degree in Marketing and International Trade, Master’s Degree in Business Management and Resources Humans), all of them accredited by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), the Canarian Agency for Quality Assessment and University Accreditation (ACECAU), currently ACCUEE. On the other hand, the Faculty also offers a doctoral program.

In the field of research, the Faculty occupies outstanding positions in the leading national and international rankings in economics, business, and tourism. It hosts more than one hundred and fifty researchers who carry out internationally recognized quality research, which means the publication of some two hundred articles in impact scientific journals annually. These researchers are part of institutes and observatories that comprise many of the Faculty’s research groups. In addition, the Faculty has several chairs, managed in collaboration with other institutions and organizations, through which the study and research of a specific subject from different areas of knowledge are deepened.

With more than two thousand students, one hundred and fifty professors, and eighteen administration and service workers, it is the second largest Faculty of the ULPGC after the Faculty of Law, located very close to ours and thereby. Therefore, this part of the Tafira campus concentrates a good portion of the students and professors of the ULPGC.

The commitment to the Faculty’s internationalization is also materialized in the fact that students can choose between numerous European, American, and Asian universities to study part of their studies and even obtain a double degree with European Universities (England, Germany, France, and Scotland).

I encourage you to use your time efficiently, taking advantage of it to study, educate yourself in values, and make lifelong friendships. I wish you the best and tremendous success.
