New Governing Team of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism Takes Office

On July 25, the official swearing-in ceremony of the new governing team of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism was held in the “April 26” Room at the Rectorate Building of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The event was presided over by the Rector of the ULPGC and the Secretary General, who joined the newly appointed Dean and Vice Deans as they pledged to fulfill the responsibilities of their respective roles faithfully.
The Dean, who was elected by the Faculty Board on April 21 and officially confirmed on April 29, presented the team that will accompany her in leading the Faculty over the coming years. This new term begins with a strong commitment to academic excellence, social engagement, and institutional development.

Emotional Graduation Ceremony for the Master’s in Marketing and International Trade

Last Friday, July 18, the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism hosted the graduation ceremony for the Master’s Degree in Marketing and International Trade (MUMCI). This heartfelt event marked the official presentation of diplomas to this year’s graduates.

The ceremony, held in the faculty’s main auditorium, was presided over by the Dean, Professor Mª Victoria Ruíz Mallorquí, and featured the Vice Dean of Postgraduate and Continuing Education, Professor Miguel Ángel Negrín Hernández, at the academic table. The class sponsors joined them:
Professor Sonia Suárez Ortega, as godmother; Casiano Manrique de Lara Peñate, as godfather; and the Master’s coordinator, Professor Josefa Delia Martín Santana.

Also participating in the ceremony was Ms. Dunia Pérez García, General Director of Cencosu-SPAR Gran Canaria, Managing Director of the RIC Venture Capital Company, and a Board Member at Cenvesu. In her address, she praised the quality of the program and the intense preparation of its graduates.
A total of 14 students received their diplomas, surrounded by family and friends in an event filled with emotion, inspiring speeches, and video presentations created by the graduates themselves, reflecting their learning journey and personal growth throughout the program.

Graduation Ceremony for the 12th Class of the Economics Degree

Last Saturday, July 5th, the graduation ceremony for the 12th class of the Economics Degree took place at the Assembly Hall of the Humanities Building at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), organized by the students of the Economics Degree of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism.

It was a moment of profound emotion as a total of 18 students, their families, and the academic community gathered for this significant event.
The ceremony was presided over by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Mª Victoria Ruíz Mallorquí, and also featured the class sponsors, Professor
Carmen García Galindo and Professor Juan Luis Jiménez González, as well as the Vice Dean of the Economics Degree, Professor Miguel Ángel Negrín
Hernández.

The event was a jubilant celebration, filled with heartfelt moments as families joined the students to mark one of the most meaningful milestones
in their academic journey. The class sponsors addressed the graduates with words of congratulations and gratitude for the honor of sharing such a
special moment. They also wished the students success in the professional stage that now begins and reminded them that the doors of ULPGC will
always remain open to them.

Graduation Ceremony of the 12th Cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management

Last Thursday, July 10th, the graduation ceremony for the 12th cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) took place. The event was held in the Jerónimo Saavedra Hall of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium.

The ceremony was presided over by the new Dean of the Faculty, Professor M.ª Victoria Ruíz Mallorquí, who was joined at the academic table by the cohort’s sponsors, Professor Margarita Mesa Mendoza and Professor Domingo Javier Santana Martín. Also present was the Vice Dean of the Tourism Degree, Professor Félix Blázquez Santana, and the Vice Dean of Student Affairs and Digital Communication, Professor Nancy Dávila Cárdenes.

A total of 78 students, who completed their studies between 2021 and 2025, received their graduation sashes in an emotional atmosphere, surrounded by family and friends, Faculty, and the representative of the Governing Board of the Illustrious Association of Economists, Jonathan Márquez Lasso.

The sponsors delivered heartfelt speeches, thanking the students for the honor of being chosen and sharing personal anecdotes from their time in class.

The students also gave a speech, accompanied by a video featuring images of their families, to whom they offered a warm round of applause in recognition of their unwavering support throughout this academic journey.

A second video, showcasing some of the most fun and memorable moments from university life, reminded everyone that there was also time to enjoy and celebrate along the way.
As a closing gesture, flower bouquets were presented to the members of the presidential table and the organizing team, followed by the traditional university anthem Gaudeamus Igitur.

The Faculty extends its heartfelt congratulations to the entire graduating class for their effort, dedication, and commitment throughout their studies.
