Graduation Ceremony of the 12th Cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management

Last Thursday, July 10th, the graduation ceremony for the 12th cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) took place. The event was held in the Jerónimo Saavedra Hall of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium.

The ceremony was presided over by the new Dean of the Faculty, Professor M.ª Victoria Ruíz Mallorquí, who was joined at the academic table by the cohort’s sponsors, Professor Margarita Mesa Mendoza and Professor Domingo Javier Santana Martín. Also present was the Vice Dean of the Tourism Degree, Professor Félix Blázquez Santana, and the Vice Dean of Student Affairs and Digital Communication, Professor Nancy Dávila Cárdenes.

A total of 78 students, who completed their studies between 2021 and 2025, received their graduation sashes in an emotional atmosphere, surrounded by family and friends, Faculty, and the representative of the Governing Board of the Illustrious Association of Economists, Jonathan Márquez Lasso.

The sponsors delivered heartfelt speeches, thanking the students for the honor of being chosen and sharing personal anecdotes from their time in class.

The students also gave a speech, accompanied by a video featuring images of their families, to whom they offered a warm round of applause in recognition of their unwavering support throughout this academic journey.

A second video, showcasing some of the most fun and memorable moments from university life, reminded everyone that there was also time to enjoy and celebrate along the way.
As a closing gesture, flower bouquets were presented to the members of the presidential table and the organizing team, followed by the traditional university anthem Gaudeamus Igitur.

The Faculty extends its heartfelt congratulations to the entire graduating class for their effort, dedication, and commitment throughout their studies.

Ceremony Held for the 12th Cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism at ULPGC

Last Saturday, July 5th, the graduation ceremony for the 12th cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) was held at INFECAR.

The ceremony was presided over by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Mª Victoria Ruíz Mallorquí, who was joined at the academic table by Professor Francisco López del Pino, as well as the class sponsor, Professor José Luis Ballesteros Rodríguez, and the class co-sponsor, Professor Mª del Pino Medina Brito.

During their speeches, both the sponsor and the co-sponsor delivered heartfelt words of congratulations, encouragement, and hope to the new graduates, emphasizing the significance of the latest stage they are entering after completing their undergraduate studies.

In addition, the Dean encouraged them to continue their education and take advantage of the academic opportunities offered by the ULPGC, such as the new Master’s Degree in Tourism: Digitalization, Innovation, and Intelligence, emphasizing the need for ongoing training in today’s professional world.

The event also acknowledged the essential role of families, whose support is vital for students to face and successfully overcome their university journey.

 

 

Emotional sash ceremony for the second cohort of the Double Degree in Business Administration and Tourism

Last Friday, July 4th, the graduation sash ceremony for the second cohort class of the Double Degree in Business Administration (ADE) and Tourism was held in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism. A total of 15 students received their sashes in a ceremony presided over by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Mª Victoria Ruíz Mallorquí.
The event also featured the presence of the Vice Dean of the Tourism Degree, Professor Félix Blázquez Santana, and the Vice Dean of the ADE Degree, Professor Mª Gracia García Soto. As sponsors of the class, the students chose Professors José Luis Ballesteros Rodríguez and Domingo Javier Santana Martín, who shared heartfelt and appreciative words with those concluding this academic stage.
The sash ceremony is always a particularly emotional event, not only for its academic significance but also because of the presence and support of families, who proudly and joyfully share this moment with the graduating students.

AWARD CEREMONY FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE RECOGNITION

The Faculty of Economics, Business, and Tourism would like to congratulate the colleagues who were honored today, Monday, June 30, by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the DOCENTIA-ULPGC 2023-2024 Awards, which recognize teaching excellence among its faculty members.
Among the 59 award recipients are seven male and four female professors from the four biggest departments that provide instruction within the Faculty.

The evaluation, conducted annually, randomly selects one-third of the teaching staff. It aims to highlight the best practices of those lecturers who receive outstanding evaluations from students, as well as from their Faculty and department. In each edition, the recognition may be granted to no more than 13% of the evaluated Faculty.
